What We Do
The Community Program of the JLD contributes volunteers and dollars to direct service projects, grants, collaborations, advocacy and training around our focus area of the health and education of women and children. The JLD researches critical needs facing our community in the focus area of the health and education of women and children and collaborates with non-profit agencies to develop programs and projects and/or to make grants that respond to those needs. The JLD has long-term projects with agencies, and has short-term programs to assist families with young children.
Public Policy is an integral part of our Community Program. In order to leverage volunteers and dollars, we advocate for change in existing systems. Legislative involvement is directed towards women, children and families to effect lasting change and solutions.
The JLD supports multiple Community Projects, providing financial support as well as volunteers in direct service, training, management, and board participation.
