Career Connections & Empowerment
Empowering Parents to Reach Their Professional Potential
The Junior League has been successfully changing the lives of single parents through the Career Connections program at Decatur Place. Volunteers work in teams with the program participants helping them establish attainable career and education goals. The eight week program includes teaching a variety of topics such as; goal setting, resume writing, job search strategies, interview etiquette, interview prep sessions and how to dress for a successful interview. The guidance provided by the volunteers allows the participants to take the first step towards going back to school for a degree or to shoot for a new career. The Career Connections program works to empower single parents with the confidence they need to enable them to aim for a new career and life.
