About Us

The Junior League of Denver is a women’s training organization that develops civic leaders committed to improving our community. We are currently working to improve literacy rates in the Denver metro area. Founded in 1918, the League started many well-known Denver institutions including the Children’s Museum of Denver, the Mile High Transplant Bank and the Red Rocks Concert Series.

Why Should I Join?

Give back to your community

  • We are currently working to improve literacy rates in the Denver metro area for children birth through 3rdgrade. 
    • Participate in our literacy efforts through programs such as Kids Connect, Read 2 Kids, and our Little Free Libraries

  • Serve our community directly through our service projects with organizations like Newborns in Need, Denver Children’s Museum, Dress for Success, Food Bank of the Rockies, and The Gathering Place.
  • Organize or attend fundraising events like The Journey, Mile High Holiday Mart, and various Partner Projects.  Our fundraising supports our community programs and enables the League to give financially to our community.
  • Join our public policy and advocacy efforts to research, educate, and advocate on legislation impacting the community.

Grow professionally and as leaders

  • Attend training events to enhance your personal and professional development.  Previous training events have included:  A voter’s Guide to the Colorado Ballot, How to Navigate Your Professional Career, Vision Board Workshop, Resume Writing & Interviewing Skills, and Women’s Wellness.
  • Serve on committees to develop professionally.  Enhance your current areas of passion and strengths or branch out to develop new skills.
  • Take on a leadership position and participate in targeted leadership development training.

Get Connected to other women

  • Expand your personal and professional network by serving alongside Junior League of Denver members.
  • Meet new friends and develop strong relationships with other women wanting to make a difference.  Many of our members have built close friendships with women they’ve met through the Junior League of Denver.

    Who Can Join?

    To join the Junior League of Denver, you must be:

          1. A woman
          2. At least 21 years of age
          3. A Denver metro area resident

    **You must also successfully complete one year as a Provisional member by fulfilling all Provisional Requirements

      What Can I Expect? 

      Provisional Course (Your First Year)

      You will be placed in a group of new provisional members based on geographic area.  An advisor will lead you and your group through your provisional year, helping you navigate the Junior League of Denver. 

      Provisional Retreat

      The Provisional Retreat serves as the kick-off to your first year with the Junior League of Denver.  You will meet your Provisional Advisor and fellow new members and learn about the Junior League of Denver.

      Provisional Requirements and Commitments

      Your provisional year will require a commitment of approximately 60 total hours between the months of August through May.  You will participate in:

      • Community Service Projects
      • Training Sessions on the Junior League of Denver
      • Professional and/or Personal Development Events
      • Fundraising Activities or Events
      • Socials to Get Connected with Junior League of Denver Members


      Active Service

      Upon successful completion of your provisional year, you will transition to active service.  As an active Junior League of Denver member, you will serve on one of many League committees.  We ask that you serve a minimum of 5 years as an Active Member.

      Can I transfer into the Junior League of Denver from another city?

      If you have recently moved to the Denver area and are interested in transferring your membership to the Junior League of Denver, please contact your current League for information regarding their transfer process.  All transfers must be processed through AJLI’s eUpdate transfer system by your current league prior to your involvement with JLD. Once your formal transfer paperwork has been submitted, you will receive an automated email from the AJLI online system and our Transfer Committee will be in touch within a few days with additional details for finalizing your transition to the JLD. The deadline for incoming Active transfers is December 31st and the deadline for incoming Provisional transfers is September 15th. If the JLD receives your transfer record after these dates you will be placed on Holdover status until the following League year.
