We are thrilled to announce our 2015 speaker for The Journey, Martina Navratilova, tennis player extraordinaire! The 2014 Journey event was a smashing success, raising more than $70,000 to support our literacy efforts in the Denver metro community. Join us in 2015 as we again raise funds for our beloved community.

When you purchase tickets/tables for The Journey, you support our literacy efforts in the community, including our very own Read2Kids and Kids Connect programs. Learn more about our literacy efforts in the community, including NEW 2014-2015 community programs!

Former Denver Bronco Reggie Rivers will serve as our emcee/auctioneer for the event! Click here or on the picture above to watch a brief message from Reggie.

JLD Past President Arlene Hirschfeld

Our very own Arlene Hirschfeld will serve as Honorary Chair for our 2015 Journey event!
For more than 40 years, Arlene Hirschfeld has been a community leader in Denver charitable circles. She was inducted into the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame in 2006 in recognition of her significant accomplishments and contributions. She was appointed in 1990 by Colorado Governor Roy Romer to serve on the Colorado Women’s Economic Development Council, was appointed in 1998 by Governor Bill Owens to serve on the Executive Resident Commission, and again was asked to serve in 2007 by Colorado First Lady Jeannie Ritter, and currently is serving on the Executive Residence Presentation Fund Committee under Governor John Hickenlooper. Arlene was Junior League of Denver President in 1986-1987, and has always been a champion for arts and education in the Denver metro area.

Keynote Speaker Martina Navratilova

Martina won the Wimbledon women's singles title a record 9 times and has been described by many as "the greatest singles, doubles, and mixed doubles player who's ever lived". Martina is also a champion for education, supporting the communities where we donate, serve and volunteer. Partnering with Martina exemplifies the Junior League of Denver’s commitment to education, and proceeds will help us further our efforts to improve literacy rates for children.
