About the Helen Daly Peale Society
The Helen Daly Peale Society, in honor of our first Junior League of Denver President, is a group of JLD members that have informed us that the JLD Foundation is a beneficiary in a will or trust as a part of the member’s financial planning. Members choose to support either the JLD or JLD Foundation.

Bequests: Planning for the Future
Bequests are gifts made through your will or trust and can be made in several ways: a specific dollar amount, a specific percentage of your estate, or all or part of what remains after provisions have been made to other beneficiaries.
Bequests permit you to retain full control of your assets during your lifetime, but also provide the satisfaction of knowing that, ultimately, assets not needed for family purposes will be directed based on your intentions. Importantly, bequests are fully deductible for estate tax purposes.
It may be helpful to know that the Junior League of Denver Foundation can easily be added to your existing will through an amendment called a codicil; thus, your will does not have to be redrafted.
Bequests offer the opportunity to perpetuate interest in the Junior League of Denver beyond your lifetime. By providing support through a bequest, you leave a legacy of your interest that transcends generations and forms the cornerstone of the financial future of the Junior League of Denver.
There are three basic types of bequests:

- Specific Bequest (dollar amount)
“I hereby give $________ to the Junior League of Denver Foundation, Inc. (TIN #84-1201624), a qualified 501(c)(3) organization, currently located at 1301 S. Washington St. Denver, CO 80210.”
- Percentage Bequest (percentage of estate)
“I hereby give x% of my estate to the Junior League of Denver Foundation, Inc. (TIN #84-1201624), a qualified 501(c)(3) organization, currently located at 1301 S. Washington St. Denver, CO 80210.”
- Residuary Bequest (allows all or part of remaining estate assets to benefit the Junior League of Denver Foundation, Inc., after debts, expenses, and specific bequests have been paid)
“I hereby give X% of the residue of my estate to the Junior League of Denver Foundation, Inc., (TIN #84-1201624), a qualified 501(c)(3) organization, currently located at 1301 S. Washington St. Denver, CO 80210.”
